About Us

Creative Kernow (CK) is Cornwall’s leading creative sector support organisation. CK runs a number of projects including the Carn to Cove rural touring scheme and the FEAST community arts programme as well as Villages in Action (ViA), its neighbouring community touring scheme.

ViA is a charity that has been promoting the arts in southern Devon for over 25 years and offers a ‘menu’ of high-quality arts performances to a network of volunteer promoters who pick from the choice of events for their communities. You will join the team at a key moment as we transition from an ACE-funded project led by CK to a more autonomous organisation. Over a 6-month period (May-Oct) we will be experimenting with new engagement models to further embed creativity within our communities. We are not only concerned with the presentation of performances but involving more of the communities we serve in co-curating these experiences with us. We are interested in the distinctiveness of Devon and the opportunities for community-inspired activity to take ViA forward to the next stage of its development.

About You

The selected candidate or consortium will have a strong understanding of the charitable and arts funding ecosystem and will understand motivations within the grant-making and fundraising sectors. You will be analytical with a background in prospect research with an excellent track record in securing third sector and public funding. You should enjoy researching opportunities, developing engagement strategies, and applying for funding to ensure the success of arts or community-based engagement.

You will be an important part of the project team who will drive the next steps in ViA’s development. To respond to this challenge, you should be flexible and adaptable with an interest in the wider arts ecology in Devon.
